Chinese and English versions of a book entitled "You and Us: Stories of China and Nepal" were released in Kathmandu, Nepal's capital, on Jan. 24.
Nepal's Deputy Prime Minister Kamal Thapa, who is also in-charge of foreign affairs, hosted the book launch with Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai, former Prime Minister Kirtinidhi Bista, former Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zeng Xuyong, and more than 200 guests attended.
On the 60th anniversary ofdiplomatic relations between China and Nepalon Aug. 1, 1955, the China Intercontinental Press started to work on the 360-page "Stories of China and Nepal" last year. Seventeen Chinese and seven Nepalese writers contributed stories of China and Nepal's friendly communication and exchange to the book. Those writers were formerly high-ranking government officials, diplomats, experts, scholars and journalists.
The "You and Us" book series was masterminded by China's State Council Information Office and published by the China Intercontinental Press.
The book series seeksto establish a closer relationship, both culturally and diplomatically, between China and those countries inside President Xi Jinping’s proposed Belt and Road Initiative. Thus far, five books on different countries have been published including Israel, Russia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan and Nepal. Those books all triggered great feedback from the diplomatic worlds of China and the targeted countries.
In 2016, the China Intercontinental Press will also publish other books from this series, including Indonesia, Switzerland, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Mongolia and Egypt.Books targeting Turkmenistan, Iran, Turkey, Brunei, Laos and Kuwait will also be produced.，大众棋牌
